Nottingham Hospitals Charity launched the Saving Lives Helipad Appeal in July 2014. The appeal is raising £3 million to build an onsite helipad at Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) in Nottingham, home to the East Midlands Major Trauma Centre.
We want to save more lives
At the moment, critically injured patients being taken to QMC by air ambulance have to complete their journey by road. At busy times, this can take up to 20 minutes – delaying the patient’s access to vital medical treatment.
Valuable seconds can make all the difference
Building an onsite helipad at QMC will reduce this transfer time to less than 5 minutes, delivering patients directly into the expert hands of the Major Trauma Centre team. This will reduce the risk of complications and give patients the best possible chance of survival and recovery.
Help us make the new helipad a reality
Like most hospital helipads, building the onsite helipad at QMC relies entirely on charitable donations. With your help, we can raise the funds we need to build and equip the new helipad so it’s fully operational by March 2016.
